Jay Caldwell grew up in an art and antique collecting family. In 1973, his father founded Caldwell Gallery. After graduating Dartmouth College in 1985, Jay joined the family business. He worked alongside his father, who never retired, until his passing at age 88. Now in his 36th year as a gallerist, Jay continues to buy and sell American and European art, 1850-present. The gallery advises both seasoned and beginning collectors, and has sold work to more than twenty-five museums.
